Rare set of 10 PEL RP6 stacking chairs, designed by Bruno Pollack and produced in Great Britain by Practical Equipment Ltd. (PEL), circa 1932.
Originally designed in Vienna in 1927, Pollack’s tubular steel chair was one of the early modernist designs to combine a lightweight industrial construction with the practical ability to stack.
PEL acquired the production rights in the 1930s and produced the chairs in large numbers for schools, public buildings and other institutional spaces.
Six of the ten chairs retain their original PEL manufacturer’s label.
