Rare Brass Scissor Lamp by Alfred Müller for AMBA Basel (Switzerland, 1950s)

DK alone black
DESCRIPTION:

An exceptional example of mid-century Swiss industrial design, this extendable scissor lamp was designed by Alfred Müller and produced by AMBA Basel in the 1950s.
This rare version features a striking brass accordion arm—far less common than the standard variants—paired with a creamy shade perforated with delicate ventilation holes around the rim.

Beautifully engineered, the lamp’s scissor mechanism allows for smooth extension and retraction, offering maximum flexibility for wall-mounted task lighting.
The brass elements have aged with a rich patina, enhancing the lamp’s vintage charm, while the shade retains its original glossy finish with minor signs of wear consistent with age.

Both sculptural and functional, this piece is a collector’s gem and an iconic addition to any design-conscious interior.
